File extensions. How to find which software runs this file extension?

This is a riddle which is sometimes difficult to crack.
Why does Windoze have file extensions?
Because the designers intended it to..really?
Let's not get into that..That's a windows (actually DOS)design question.
Anyways,You'll find what you're looking for:
The answer to the question that the subject of the post asks..
at a rather cute site called www.filext.com
Here is the query for which I searched.Apparently my Olympus digital cam gives me movies which only Apple QuickTime can play.I thought .mov had something to do with an open file format, honestly!
Well then..Go check out the site.I found the utility of the site rather nice!
Cheers,
Narayan

Department of Administrative Public Grievances

Long winded name it would seem like. So what, well apparently this works.
Some guy in Faridabad(Haryana) apparently made a complaint and it was acted upon.
I clicked on this link and the visitor counter showed (visitor no 00276 (as of 20 Aug 2007).
Rather pathetic isn't it, in a country with a billion people and most of the time crying that
the Government is'nt doing something. The people seem to be doing even less.

So here you have it,a complaint forum for the armchair based IT Professional who dosen't have time for(sic!) going to the government office.
Have you faced a problem that you want set right? Here is a means.
Go and try it out and see if it works. At least this time the public cannot blame
the government for doing nothing.
Go ahead,file your complaint.
Web Activism is happening, here and now.It better.
Cheers

Surface Computing ,by M$

Hey, Must give it to M$ for this. This is from an email forward, and even more exciting.
Just watch this video.
It's called "surface computing" and looks really cool.
The world does look a bit like what we thought it was going towards.I remember seeing
stuff like this in a serial called Indradhanush directed by Anand Mahendroo a long time back,
sometime like 1989 when I was 12 and we'd just bought a black-and-white TV.

Awesome rang a bell.Reminded me of a friend of mine, now lives in Silicon Valley.More on that later.Enough said..roll your touchpad/mouse/finger(if you're using a surface computer or an iPhone that is) a little up and look at that there video.
Until next time, then. For an awesome post on the awesomeness of awesome.

Safari on the iPhone

I loved this. Now what's that? It's Steve Jobs talking about Safari Integration on the IPhone.Watch the video .You'll be zapped. It's got as human an interface than you,or atleast I
could possibly imagine.Of course I'm not going to buy an iPhone sooner ,or even later. It's simply not practical given that I've already spent 13 grand on my Nokia N70, don't even use it much, and what's worse, scratched it all over.I live in India, happen to be absent-minded,and so on.
So what's cool about it?Just watch the video.
